RACHEL McNAMARA

Rachel joined Intreegue Design, Inc in the summer of 2022. Coming from the nonprofit sector, her previous career experience informed her understanding of stormwater management and native plant communities, as well as public space design. In addition to her design experience, her background includes community-engaged design, educational outreach, multi-stakeholder project management, and grant writing and reporting. Plants have always been her passion and escape, so she is enjoying the ability to focus more time on the art of planting design in this stage of her career. She is also an ISA certified arborist as well as a Level 1 Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP).

Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University, building on a strong foundation of love for all things green and growing, especially trees. Her philosophy is that people must first experience the landscape as inviting and beautiful in order to develop ownership and hopefully curiosity about the natural world around them. This positive experience can then be a catalyst for them to make better choices for our shared earth. Outside of the office, she can be found entertaining her daughter, running, biking, or swimming, hopefully in the woods.
